Donna's Children is a doll shop located in Western, Massachusetts, with a focus on serving doll enthusiasts for the past
26 years. Our excitement of teaching Porcelain Dollmaking Classes still continues because of the enjoyment of experiencing the personal accomplishment of a student creating her own doll.
Donna Sabonis, recipient of many ribbons and Best of Show awards for her work, has shown her talent through the artistry of her Porcelain Dolls. All work is done by Donna from the pouring of the molds ,cleaning the greenware, china painting,to
designing and sewing the outfits. This all adds to the
wonderful overall look of the doll. Donna's painting of
porcelain dolls is a special blend of colors that are
realistic but yet very warm and subtle.
Donna has always welcomed new ideas in the dollmaking
field and has enjoyed hosting many talented doll artists to
share their sculpting expertise at these seminars. Donna's
Children is now a host studio for Jack Johnston, sculpting
with Pro Sculpt, a polymer clay. John has definitely made an impression on the doll industry and the popularity of their Sculpting Seminars. Additionally, throughout the year, Donna's Children offers smocking, sewing and rocker eye seminars.
Donna's love of dolls can also be seen in her expertise in Doll Restoration and Repair. Having been led by demand into this field because of the need for someone experienced in quality workmanship, her knowledge of different types of dolls from antique to modern is helpful in keeping your doll faithful to its original state.
Donna's Children is now hosting restoration seminars with
Joyce Murch for composition and porcelain repair.
Donna's Children has been a Seeley and Monique distributor for the past 18 years, helping the Dollmaker create their dream doll with their quality Doll Supplies.
Donna would be happy to help you with your doll creations, with a dollmaking class or help you with supplies to up-date your modern or antique doll.
